Tornike Rijvadze holds a Working Meeting with the Ambassadors of Estonia and Norway

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Estonia Riina Kaljurand, the Ambassador of Norway Helene Sand Andresen and UNICEF Representative in Georgia Ghassan Khalil.

Tornike Rijvadze spoke about the importance of the visit and assessed the prospects of cooperation. ‘Today we are hosting the Ambassadors of Estonia and Norway and the UNICEF Representative in Georgia. This is an important visit, during which a Children's Rights Center will be established in the region, which will help the region in further strengthening the mechanisms for the protection of children's rights and bringing the education system in line with Western standards. During the meeting we talked about current joint projects and assessed the prospects for future cooperation’ – Chairman of the Government said.

During the visit, a child rights center will be established in the region, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed. The Center for the Protection of the Rights of the Child will help future education professionals, parents and the interested community to better understand the rights of the child. Also, during the meeting, the parties discussed joint projects, which are already underway in Ajara with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund, the governments of Estonia and Norway.

Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara took part in the meeting.
