New School Spaces designed for 2500 Students to be added to Batumi

Budget of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Ajara increased by 8,5 million Gel. Student support, construction and rehabilitation of educational and sports infrastructure continues.

‘In the framework of the budget, the funding of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara was increased. One of the challenges for Batumi and Ajara is school spaces. Since demography dictates more requirements, we are starting the construction of a new school in Batumi on Tavdadebuli street, where more than 1000 students will be able to study in modern conditions. Also, very soon we will start the construction of the 16th school. More than 1500 places will be added there. Also, construction of a new educational center for 400 students will begin very soon in Khulo, Vashlovani, where more than 10 million GEL will be spent. All these projects will certainly allow us not to ignore any of the challenges that our citizens, especially the residents of Ajara, are worried about“ – Tornike Rijvadze said.

The republican budget of Ajara for 2022 increased by 6.2% and exceeds 482 million GEL. The volume of the planned social and healthcare programs as well as transfers to municipalities has increased.
