Tornike Rijvadze elected as the Vice President of Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) for the Second Term

Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, took part in the 50th General Assembly of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR).

At the General Assembly held in the Hellenic Republic, the President and Vice Presidents of the CPMR were elected. Tornike Rijvadze, the chairman of the government of Ajara, took the position of vice president of CPMR for the second term.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting will be held with the heads of the government of Crete and the president of CPMR. Union of Maritime Regions unites 150 regions.

The association focuses on social, economic issues, maritime policy and the development of the blue economy. Representation of CPMR includes about 200 million people. Since June 2020, the Autonomous Republic of Ajara is a full member of the CPMR and the Black Sea and Balkan Commission (BBSC) of the same organization. On October 29, 2020, the chairman of the government of Ajara was elected as the vice-president of CPMR for the first time.
