Tornike Rijvadze - The Renovated ‘Alley of Heroes’, together with the Batumi Stadium and the Surrounding Development, will give a new life to Batumi and become the City's Visiting Card
A green corridor is being actively developed in the Alley of Heroes in Batumi within the framework of ‘Renewed Regions’ program initiated by the Prime Minister.
Chairman of Ajara Government Tornike Rijvadze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze and Mayor of Batumi Archil Chikovani inspected the ongoing works in the Alley of Heroes in Batumi.
The project, which is ongoing within the state program 'Renewed Regions', envisages the rehabilitation of the "Alley of Heroes". In the alley, underground communications have already been arranged, stamped concrete of the carriageway, underground girders of the bridge connecting sections of the alley and recreational spaces have been arranged.
‘Within the framework of the program ‘Renewed Regions’ initiated by the Prime Minister, rehabilitation works are actively underway in Heroes' Alley in Batumi. The renovated Alley of Heroes, together with the Batumi Stadium and the surrounding development, will give a new life to Batumi and become the city's visiting card,’ said Tornike Rijvadze.
Currently, the construction of bridges connecting sections of the alley, turning the entire green corridor into flower beds, landscaping, footpath, irrigation system, lighting, benches and commercial spaces under the bridge are in progress.
As Irakli Karseladze mentioned, the bridge pedestrian and bicycle crossing under construction in the alley, along with the pedestrian ramp, will provide a safe connection between the sections of the three-part boulevard.
The project also plans to rehabilitate the existing memorial in the Alley of Heroes.
