Ajara wins the Award of Europe's Leading All-Season Destination 2023 at the World Travel Awards

Georgia’s Black Sea region of Ajara and the city of Batumi on Friday won the award of Europe's Leading All-Season Destination 2023 at the so-called tourism “Oscar” - the World Travel Awards, hosted in Batumi for the first time. Batumi has retained the title of the fastest growing tourist destination in Europe.

Batumi, as the Europe's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination, became the winner of the most prestigious award in the field of tourism, the World Travel Awards, for the second time last year. Batumi won the tourism Oscar in 2019 for the first time.

Representatives of the tourism industry, international media and foreign bloggers from more than 20 countries attended the World Travel Awards gala ceremony in Batumi. Among them are Euronews, Wanderlust, Emerging Europe and EarthPix.

Along with Batumi, Batumi Botanical Garden and Batumi Boulevard were also nominated in World Travel Awards nominations this year. At today's awards, the Batumi Botanical Garden won the nomination of Europe's Leading Botanical Garden.

‘World Travel Awards’ has been held for 30 years. Hundreds of nominations and thousands of nominees are divided into different categories according to continents and countries. Among them are leading hotels, travel agencies, tourist attractions, destinations, tour operators, as well as sea, road and air transport companies.
