Ajara Investment Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan
Investment forum ‘Visit Ajara/Invest in Ajara’ was opened on 27th of February in Astana Kazakhstan. Event was planned in the frames of the official visit that the delegation from Ajara AR Government is paying in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The forum was opened by the Chairman of Ajara AR Government Zurab Pataradze who welcomed the audience and talked about the importance of enhancing cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan. The Minister of Agriculture Lasha Komakhidze and representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara and the Department of Tourism and Resorts also made presentations.
Representatives of development, construction and tourism companies operating in Ajara also participated in the forum. They introduced Ajara’s investment and tourism potential to their Kazakh partners and discussed prospects of future cooperation while B2B meetings.
Ajara AR Government delegation presented Ajara as one of the most distinguished tourist destinations of Georgia and Black Sea region to the Republic of Kazakhstan and its governmental and business circles. More than million tourists visit Ajara during a year and this number is increasing. Exceptional growth of Kazakh tourists was recorded last year (+118%).
The investment forum aims at increasing number of direct and charter flights from Kazakhstan and attract more investments from this country. Some of the Georgian and Kazakh tourist companies have already negotiated. Joint projects in different directions were planned, including agriculture, education and culture.
After the presentation, invited guests introduced with the Georgian folk polyphonic songs that are under protection of UNESCO, enjoyed amazing Georgian dances and tasted the most delicious Adjarian dishes.
Official visit to Kazakhstan will last until March 1.
