Zurab Pataradze attends the Event Dedicated to April 9
The Chairman of Ajara AR Government Zurab Pataradze paid
tribute to those who died on April 9 at the memorial.
Members of legislative and executive authorities,
self-government and society gathered at the April 9 memorial. Georgian chants
28 years have passed after the Soviet Union's armed forces rallied a
peaceful protest in the early morning in 1989. As a result 21
people died. Thousands of citizens gathered in front of the Parliament poisoned
with unidentified gas.
Later in 1991 the Supreme Council of Georgia announced April 9
as the State Independence Day of Georgia.
