Apartments transferred to Private Ownership of 122 Families in Chakvi

Residential areas have been transferred to ownership of 122 families, out of which 89 are IDP families today. Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government and Sozar Subar, the Minister of Resettlement and Refugees of Georgia met those families and informed them. Pati Khalvashi, the Member of Georgian Parliament also attended the meeting.

Government of Ajara transferred residential areas to ownership for a symbolic price one GELwith the mediation of the Government of Georgia. Procedures for the ownership has been active for several months already.

‘Now the refugees have their own shelter. Before now, the government had no right to repair apartments. Now, it will be possible to renovate existing spaces as the families have the documents of ownership,’ – Sozar Subar, the minister of Resettlement and Refugees said.

‘IDPs have been given flats in their ownership. This is right management and the result of right working and quick response of the central and Ajara AR Government. This territory has been recently transferred to the Government of Ajara. According to the ordinance these spaces will be given to IDPs for a symbolic price. The area will be also arranged later.’ – Zurab Pataradze said.
