Tourism Information Center opened in Batumi Central

Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government opened the new tourism information center at Batumi Central with Sulkhan Ghlonti, the Head of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara.  The information center will serve tourists arriving in Batumi by train. The staff will provide visitors with information about the existing tourist places and sightseeing and will assist in planning specific tours.

,Tourism development is one of the most important directions for our region. We are getting prepared for a tourist season. Opening a new information center at Batumi Railway Station means more well-informed and satisfied tourists. Batumi Railway Station is a place where tours to mountainous Ajara can be planned. Rural and agricultural tourism is actively developing in Adjara. Batumi, its Botanical garden, our amazing coastline and dolphinarium are the best places to visit. I think Batumi is ready for a tourist season. I would like to thank the Department of Tourism and Resorts. We achieved a lot of success with their involvement,’ – Zurab Pataradze said.    

Visitors’ growth in Ajara Tourism Information Centers is found out annually. Batumi Information Centers served 8 752 visitors according to the data of January-April, that exceeds the same period last year with 13,1%.

Opening the new, 9th tourist information center in Batumi will provide increasing the number of visitors interested in the region and improve the quality of tourism services.
