Zurab Pataradze holds a meeting with the Ambassador of Hungary

Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Georgia, Victoria Horvath. Attaché of the Hungarian Embassy in Economic Issues Geza Lorry also attended the meeting.

Zurab Pataradze congratulated the newly appointed ambassador on her new position and wished success.

The focus was on close political and economic cooperation between Georgia and Hungary and desire to activate cooperation at the regional level was expressed.

Discussions also focused on Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration issues. The Chairman of the Government emphasized Hungary's contribution in the processes and thanked the Hungarian government for supporting Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and its integration into the EU and NATO.

At the meeting, the sides talked about strengthening ties in education, economy and tourism and prospects of cooperation.

It should be noted that the Hungarian government allocates 80 scholarships to Georgian students every year in Hungary. Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Széchenyi István University have been collaborating for years. Experimental Theater Everywhere from Ajara received the major prize at Vasvar International Theater Festival in 2017.

It was noted that Hungarian culture days will be held in Georgia in December 2017.

Victoria Horvath is the Hungarian ambassador in Georgia since September 2017.
