Tornike Rijvadze: Everything is being done to ensure that no one is left without the care and support of the state

Ministry of Health and Social Care held the presentation of works implemented in 2019 and awarded medical field representatives.

‘Health care is one of the priority areas and everything is done to ensure that no one is left without the care and support of the state in the field of health and social policy. Next year's healthcare budget has significantly increased and more citizens will have access to health services’ – Tornike Rijvadze said.

In 2019, 22 354 beneficiaries were provided with different types of services in Ajara. This year, for the first time, funding for bone marrow transplantation has begun and co-financing of treatment abroad has increased.

Ajara healthcare financing will increase by 18% in 2020. Caregivers aged 18-25 will receive up to 465 GEL monthly for the first time next year. Funding for liver transplantation will increase to GEL 100,000.

One of the government's priorities is to help eco-migrant families. Over the past 1 year, 113 eco-migrant families have purchased housing co-financed by the government, 220 eco-migrant families have been given free housing, and 100 have been legalized.

The Chairman of Ajara AR Government awarded the doctors who showed high professionalism in critical situations and saved the life of a wounded police officer in Batumi.
