Ajara AR Government Session

Ajara government session was held today. The Chairman of the Government of Ajara spoke about the innovations planned to support ecotourism, mountain tourism and rural tourism development in the region.

A new program of rural entrepreneurship development is launched, for which up to GEL 1 million is budgeted.

‘The program aims to support both young entrepreneurs, startups, and expand and modify existing businesses. It is especially important that the program can finance both ecotourism projects as well as new innovative, energy efficient projects. It is important for us to have inclusive growth in the region, which provides equal opportunities for all municipalities to access both finance and new projects’ – the Chairman said.

Batumi will host European Rural Tourism regional assembly in spring.

‘This means raising awareness of the region and the country, which will allow us to identify new developments in both ecotourism and mountain tourism development’ – Tornike Rijvadze said.

The assembly will be held in Batumi in May and will be attended by representatives of more than 15 countries.
