Security Standards of the Tourist Season and Business Support Initiatives discussed at the Ajara Government Session

Government Session has been held today where tourist season security standards and business supporting initiatives have been discussed.

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government talked about maintaining Green Zone status and expected positive dynamics of tourism industry.

‘We all have to follow the recommendations developed for the opening of tourism. These are: wearing masks and social distancing. In this way we will maintain a positive dynamics that we have now. It is especially important to take care of the status of the Green Zone with the population before the tourist season’ – the Chairman said.

Intensive work with international organizations, National Tourism Association to develop safety standards in Ajara will ensure consistent restoration of tourism. Government officials also discusses some addition initiatives supporting investment environment due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the Chairman of the Government noted, ‘in the format of maximum cooperation, we should all support business together, whereas the challenges we have had require proactive measures. The Government continuous to support business.’

In particular, the initiative envisages an increase the 4-month grace period for investors to 6 months. They also discussed the initiation of a bill aimed at reducing the bank guarantee for investors in case of fulfillment of at least 50% of their obligations.
